Sunday, December 2nd, 2007

Las Vegas does so many things well it is hard to say one thing stands out more than another. But, if I was forced to …. I would definitely pick New Years. Sin City has earned it’s nick name with years of partying practice.

My Latest Trip To Las Vegas

Wednesday, June 13th, 2007

In my latest trip to Las Vegas, I was on a mission to find condo to purchase. I plan on placing a bid so my lips are sealed on the location. These will sell fast!

Anyhow, I had seven days to search, have some fun and see old friends. I rarely ever go near “The Strip”. Too many people, too much traffic! Don’t get me wrong, The Strip is a Las Vegas must see and do. So is downtown Vegas if you’ve never been there or have yet to experience it.

So I met one of my friends that moved to Vegas from Ohio and he suggested we eat lunch at the Tuscany Suites and Casino. I really enjoyed myself there. The food was very good, the casino and restaurants are very nice and not crowded at all. Not to mention I hit my first ever royal flush, went back the next day and hit my second. Who cares if it was only on a nickel machine. I finally went home with more money in my pocket than I arrived in Vegas with.

The Tuscany is located on E. Flamingo just east of Koval. Not far from The Strip but far enough. Great location and a good time! I really should keep the place to myself but I enjoyed it and want to share it with others.

For seasoned Las Vegas visitors that enjoy a cold drink and relaxing while playing video poker, I would also like to recommend Casino Valle Verde located at the corner of Sunset and Valle Verde in Henderson, NV.  Very good food, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Say “Hello” to Marisa for me. Tell her Joe from Ohio says “HI!”

Another local Vegas bar that’s nice to get away from The Strip is O’ Aces located on S. Decatur between Tropicana and Reno. It’s just around the corner from The Orleans which is another nice Hotel and Casino with nice affordable rooms if you want to avoid the congested Strip area.

And finally, get off your ass and take a trip west on 160 to Blue Diamond and continue to Red Rock Canyon and then back to Vegas via Charleston. It’s a beautiful drive where you have a chance to see wild burros (feed them carrots) and you can get out and take a walk and enjoy the surroundings. Horseback rides are also available in the area. And you might as well stop at the Red Rock Resort on your way back to town.

So if it’s not your first time to Vegas, get out and enjoy the surrounding areas and hang with the locals. That’s what I do and it’s always a good time!

Affordable Las Vegas - Things To Do Besides Gambling

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

A trip to Las Vegas does not have to leave you impoverished. Surprisingly, there are a wide variety of things to see and do which won’t empty your wallet. While you may wish to do some gambling, that doesn’t have to be the all encompassing purpose of a sojourn in Las Vegas.
